OSA (Organic Soil Activator) is rich in organic substances, amino acid, trace elements, and soil probiotics. The purpose of OSA is to encourage the spontaneous metabolism of the soil environment, and then to further enrich the soil diversity and the food chain.
OSA is very different from the organic liquid fertilizers on the market. It can encourage the growth of plantings, improve the quality, protect the soil, and especially enhance the potential of the soil sustainability.
OSA was founded by a research group from the national University of Technology. Under the leadership of Dr. J. J. Lay, our group cooperates with Dr. G. S. Fan and Dr. J. C. Huang. Over the years, we have been commissioned to many projects from the government and some related academic research institutions. Due to the rich experiences, we specialize in organic waste management, anaerobic fermentation process, microbe environmental control, dominant bacteria recovery, the identification of molecular biotechnology in microbial molecular genetics, and the production of special enzyme. We also master and use different patterns of biomass well. When the biomass is applied to the co-fermentation and is identified by the molecular biology techniques, we found that the process not only contains Clostridium sp. but also a large proportion of Bacillus sp. According to the literatures and the related research reports, Bacillus sp. commonly exists in the soil or on the plant surface. In this genus, most species of bacteria are able to produce poisonous antibiotics against plant pathogenic fungi, bacteria, or pests. Therefore, the bacteria are usually applied to the biological control over plant diseases and pests, especially B. subtilis, which is the most potential one. It is noteworthy that Organic soil activator (OSA) is a synthetic product which results from the mutual metabolism of complex microbial community, not the traditional effect of the mono-antibiotic. This activator, unlike traditional pesticides, does not lead to the drug resistance, but has positive effects on the soils, the ecological environments, and the growth of plants.
In recent years (2004~now), our group has utilized OSA to the experiments in many fields: agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, and industry. In agriculture, OSA is used to accelerate the growth of plantings, improve barren soils, perfect the soil environment, etc. In forestry, OSA is used to prevent and cure plant diseases and pests (the brown root disease and the root rot). In aquaculture, OSA helps to improve the pollution of the bottom mud, activate the bottom mud, monitor the alga, and stabilize the quality of water. In industry, OSA replaces the traditional chemical addictive in the biological treatment of organic waste water. It also ensures the efficiency. With respect to the economy of the entire system, the research results of OSA present quite positive benefits. In order to achieve the best effect on the application, we require more explanation from every aspect and the wide promotion. To balance and protect the ecological environment has always been our motivation.
